THE SCOTTISH LEGAL TRADITION It is often forgotten that the Scottish legal system is distinct from that of England and that our traditions and procedures have developed separately and are administered independently from the rest of the United Kingdom As a separate jurisdiction, Scotland has its own court structure and Its own procedures It also has a substantial number of lawyers with experience of comparative legal systems and jurisdictions, its own Faculty of Advocates and Law Society, and a highly developed academic legal tradition. All these resources are available to disputants who choose to arbitrate in Scotland. |
